Here are some pages with suggestions what you can do in Votsalakia
and elsewhere on Samos. As the Island is 540 square kilometer,
there are many things to see and many possibilities of how you
can spend your Holiday. The first thing we would like to tell you about is a wonderful day
trip with Prodromos - Captain Ouzo - a unique man, captain and
friend. You can hire the whole boat, for the day. The boat was
a fishing boat before and still is occasionally. It's always very
clean and taken good care of.

Prodromos will bring you out of Votsalakia and away from civilization.
On the very end of Samos Island is a little hidden beach where
Captain Ouzo has his own little house on his own little beach.
It's not so little though. an exciting trip along the south west
coast of Samos, beneath the massive of Mt.
Kerkis. A breathtaking view on the biggest mountain of the
aegean sea now from a different angle. there are many small beaches
to be discovered along the way and if you like a spot you just
ask the captain to stop and you can go for a swimm or snorkel
around to discover the underwater world of Samos. Or you can trust
Captain Ouzo's judgment and he will lead you to the nicest beaches
himself. As there is no scuba diving in samos yet, we all hope
for this to change in the years to come, here you have the best
chance to see some of the underwater life from Samos Island. You
will find octopus here if you look good, they are hard to see,
but if you find one, just follow it a while and you will be amazed
what you can observe on behavior here. There is many other fish
around here as well but not so much coral though. It's not the same as
diving on Koh Tao but still very very nice.

Once you get to captain Ouzo's small beach with the name of the monastery
nearby Agios Joannis, you can either barbeque some meat, what you
will have to bring yourself, food is not included, make a salad
and fried some potato's - Prodromos is sure gonna help you with
everything - or you can just enjoy the beach, go for a swimm or
explore the mountain aerea behind the beach. small path ways through
olive fields will lead you to the nearly abandoned monastery of
Ag. Joannis. A beautiful monastery, build under shady trees, There
is only one munch left in this place. At around six 'o' clock it's
time to turn back to Votsalakia. Don't forget to take some drinks,
a hat and your sun creame with you. In the Kalivi beach Cafe you
can borrow a ice box or two to keep your stuff cool. It's a free
